Terms of Service
Last updated 12 June 2026
These terms govern your use of Deft Move. By using the site or creating an account, you agree to them. Deft Move is operated by EverKnight Limited, a company registered in Ireland. Nothing in these terms limits the statutory rights you have as a consumer, including under the Consumer Rights Act 2022.
The service
Deft Move provides digital “decks” of practical tactic cards for work and life situations. Some cards are free to preview; full decks unlock through a paid membership. The membership is a digital service (platform access) that includes digital content (downloadable PDF decks) — the distinction matters for your cancellation rights below.
Early access
We are currently in early access: paid plans are not yet live, and joining the waitlist costs nothing. Launch perks (such as the FOUNDING40 code) are promotional offers — their final conditions (eligibility, duration, one-per-person) will be stated when paid plans launch, and they have no cash value.
Memberships, billing and auto-renewal
- Memberships are recurring subscriptions, billed monthly or yearly as selected at checkout. They renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled.
- All prices shown are total prices; where VAT applies, it is included. Payment is processed by our payment provider — we never see your full card details.
- You can cancel at any time from your account, in a few clicks — cancelling is as easy as subscribing. Cancellation stops future billing and takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- For yearly plans, we’ll email you a reminder before each renewal.
- When you cancel, you keep any PDFs you have already downloaded (the latest version you held), but you lose access to the platform, its features and future updates.
Your 14-day right of withdrawal (EU/EEA consumers)
If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA, you have the right to withdraw from a purchase within 14 days without giving a reason. Because the membership mixes a digital service with digital content, it works like this:
- The membership (digital service). You may withdraw within 14 days of purchase by emailing hello@deftmove.com (no special form needed). If you asked for access to start immediately, we may deduct a proportionate amount for the period you had access; the rest is refunded within 14 days to your original payment method.
- PDF downloads (digital content). When you download a deck, you will be asked to expressly consent to immediate delivery and to acknowledge that you thereby lose the right of withdrawal for that content. Without that consent, the content simply isn’t delivered until the withdrawal period ends.
- Renewals: you can always avoid the next charge by cancelling before the renewal date.
Beyond the withdrawal right, refunds are at our discretion — but nothing in this section limits your statutory remedies if the service or content is faulty or not as described.
Your licence to the content
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the cards and downloads for your own personal and professional use. You may not resell, redistribute, publish or share the content, or use it to build a competing product or to train a machine learning model.
Intellectual property & third-party works
The Deft Move name, logo, card designs and the text of the cards are owned by EverKnight Limited or its licensors and protected by law.
Our cards summarise, in our own words and with attribution, ideas and frameworks from published books, papers and talks. All referenced titles, author names and framework names (and any trademarks among them) remain the property of their respective owners. Deft Move is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any of the authors, publishers or organisations cited on our cards. Citations are credits, not endorsements. If you are a rights holder with a concern, contact us at hello@deftmove.com and we will respond promptly.
Acceptable use
Don’t misuse the service: no scraping or bulk-downloading, no reverse engineering, no attempts to break security or access other people’s data, and nothing unlawful.
Not professional advice
The cards are general educational guidance to help you think and act — they are not professional advice of any kind: not legal, financial, tax, medical, HR/employment or negotiation advice. Some cards summarise laws or legal mechanisms (for example, payment-collection steps or pay-transparency rules) — these are general information only, laws vary by jurisdiction and change over time, and you should take advice from a qualified professional before acting on anything with legal or financial consequences. Decisions you make remain your own responsibility.
Availability and changes
We may change, improve, suspend or discontinue parts of the service, and we may update these terms. If we make material changes we’ll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify registered users; for changes that affect a paid subscription, we’ll give you notice and the chance to cancel before they take effect. Continued use after notice means you accept the updated terms.
Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, EverKnight Limited is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded by law — and nothing reduces your statutory consumer rights.
Complaints, governing law and jurisdiction
If something’s wrong, email hello@deftmove.com first — we aim to resolve complaints quickly and informally. Consumers in Ireland can also contact the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (ccpc.ie).
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA, you additionally benefit from any mandatory protections of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in your home courts.
